| PRIVATE INSTRUCTION Private instruction is available upon request. Students are encouraged to attend group but sometimes that is not possible. For a little extra help, scheduling problems or advanced training you can schedule a private lesson. Hourly rate applies. SPECIAL NEEDS INSTRUCTION Instructor Chuck Westcott has been working with autistic students since opening the school in 2004. With help from a licensed occupational therapist and parents of autistic children, he has developed a successful teaching methodology to share the benefits of martial arts practice with students having autism spectrum disorders (ASD). While focusing his practice on students with ASD, Instructor Westcott has been able to modify, adapt and apply his teaching method for students with other developmental and cognitive challenges. Each student is evaluated and receives instruction according to his/her needs, capabilities and personal preferences. He chooses to use a team approach, working with parents, school teachers and occasionally therapists and medical professionals to find the best ways of engaging and helping his students. GUIDELINES FOR PRIVATE INSTRUCTION All private lessons must be scheduled one week ahead of time. Private lessons cancelled less than 24 hours before scheduled lesson time will be billed. Payment must be made at time of lesson or beforehand. |
